The corona pandemic did put a dent on my travel plans but still could not dampen my love for trying out new food. I decided to try out food from different countries and that involved trying out new restaurant take aways and also cooking loads of food that I had never cooked before. One of the dish top on my list was Feijoada. I tried Feijoada for the first time last year when I went to a Brazilian restaurant for dinner. I remember the delicious black meaty stew being a hit amonsgt all who tried it. I had been craving it a lot and decided to give it a go.

What is Feijoada?

Feijoada is a thick hearty stew made with beans and different types of meats. It is very commonly eaten in Brazil, Portugal and also in Goa! The bean used are black beans and the meats used are usually pork or beef. As told by a dear Brazilian friend, Feijoada is a dish that would be commonly eaten for Sunday lunch and the only activity that you can do after eating it is taking a lovely long siesta!

As with most of the dishes, there are many variations to making a Feijoada. This one is a simple recipe yet gives amazing results.
